Icelandic chickens are a landrace (not breed) from Iceland. They have been kept for generations for their ability to forage and thrive in colder climes. We chose Icelandics for their beautiful plumage variety, hardiness, and the fact that they lay in harsh winters without supplemental light or heat.

Icelandic hens are wonderful mothers with a great drive to go broody and raise their chicks wild and free.

We offer limited numbers of Icelandic chicks each year, and you can get on our waitlist for Spring 2021 now!
